Roles and authorization in StudOn
In StudOn, newly employed lecturers automatically have the role of StudOn author. The institution managers define the roles of StudOn author and StudOn manager of their lecturers for their institution in IdM. Teaching staff who have started recently at the University have already been assigned the role of StudOn author automatically in StudOn.
Alternatively, heads of institutes can assign the roles of StudOn author or StudOn manager for their teaching staff (>> Managing teaching roles).
Alternatively, heads of institutes can assign the roles of StudOn author or StudOn manager for their teaching staff (>> Managing teaching roles).
To make a clear distinction between regular users and user accounts which have write permissions (authors, administrators etc.), teaching staff can request that their StudOn account (= IdM-ID) is renamed to firstname.lastname and apply for two test accounts. The test accounts allow teaching staff to review their content in the student view.
You can apply for your account to be renamed and for test accounts for StudOn here.
