Important Information on the Exam

The exam will take place on Wednesday, September 18th 2024, 15:00–16:00 in H18 (Cauerstraße 5a, 91058 Erlangen).
Please be there about 10–15 min earlier, such that the exam can start in time.
The ADS and MEL exams will be held together, so please don't be confused when you enter the room.

Form of the Exam

The exam will be conducted electronically, meaning that both the questions and your answers will be managed using a laptop provided by the ILI of FAU. Therefore, you do not need to bring your own laptop, and this is not a remote exam to be taken from home.
The exam duration is 60 minutes, which begins once you start the test. The remaining time will be visible in the exam browser throughout. The exam will include 40 questions, featuring various question types: multiple choice, short calculations, and matching items (attributing elements to different categories).

Grading

Each of the 40 questions in the e-exam is worth 2 points. Negative points are only applied within individual questions (e.g., an incorrect answer to one of four multiple-choice options will result in –½ point, while a correct answer will give +½ point). However, the minimum score for any question is 0 points, meaning even if all four answers in a multiple-choice question are incorrect, you will not receive less than 0 points (i.e., not –2 points).
You may use the back side of the exam form for personal notes or calculations. Please note that these notes will not be considered during grading.

Auxiliary Material

You are required to bring your own calculator (without programming functions) to solve calculation-based questions. Aside from the calculator, no other auxiliary materials are permitted. Specifically, the use of lecture notes, exercise materials, books, or any other resources is not allowed during the exam.
As with other exams, the use of electronic devices with communication capabilities (e.g., smartphones, tablets, etc.) is strictly prohibited. Smartwatches are not considered "normal" watches and must be removed. Using such devices will result in the termination of your exam.
