In this session, you will gain knowledge on work motivation. More precisely, you will learn:
- why motivation is important for the individual and the organization,
- how it can be described in terms of mental models and theories,
- how it can be assessed,
- diagnosed,
- increased,
- and how motivation can be managed in an organizational context.
After this session, you should:
- understand why motivation is a crucial factor for individual satisfaction and organizational success.
- know and understand the components of the motivation theory underlying ProMES (Pritchard & Ashwood, 2008).
- know how motivation and its different components can be assessed.
- be able to identify different solutions to different motivational problem areas.
- understand the importance of a profound evaluation and feedback system.
