Recommended requirements / Organizational notes
The lecture will be given in person, Mondays and Tuesdays noon, in H4. We will also stream the lecture live via fautv, and provide recordings on fautv (with a few days delay). Teaching language is English. We will have 4h of lecture every week, but finish early in January. The slides are provided on StudON, furthermore we have an interactive script, where you can also play with the many demos we show in the lecture. We offer two types of exercises: in the basic exercises (1.25 ECTS) you have to write simple programs that reimplement some of the stuff of the lecture. We program in web pages using JavaScript and WebGL, so you get immediate visual feedback. In the advanced exercises (2.5 ECTS), we dive deeper and implement more complicated algorithms in C++ and OpenGL. Programming experience in JavaScript and C++ is helpful, but we provide help if you have problems. The tutorials Thursdays 9-12 are not obligatory - it is just a time slot, where tutors are available in two CIP-Pools to answer your questions. Alternatively, we offer this service via teams, or you can ask offline in a forum. We offer Computer Graphics as two modules, one with the basic exercises only (5 ECTS), and one with basic and advanced exercises (7.5 ECTS). To pass the module, you have to pass the exercises and write a final written exam, which determines the grade. More details on the organisation will be given in the first lecture on Monday, Oct. 17th.
