Students are equipped with the core models and techniques in econometrics (including regression, logi and probit models) so that they are able to understand empirical papers in economics and to conduct quantitative studies. The models are applied to economic data and results are interpreted both from a statistical and economic point of view. Methodological skills that the students acquire are to conduct hypothesis tests of model parameters and to evaluate the goodness of fit and to select optimal estimators of m odels. Students use the software EViews 13 for empirical work. In the tutorials, students present and critically discuss empirical estimats of econometric models.
