The online course is designed to prepare students for everyday life in Germany as well as for living as an international student at a German university. After completing the course, learners will 
• be provided with basic knowledge about Germany referring to geographical, political and economic aspects; be familiar with German culture and media landscape, traditions and German language
• be able to start their studies at a German university, the Friedrich-Alexander-University (FAU) Erlangen-Nuremberg, its history, structure, administration, facilities and online platforms
• be familiar with German academic traditions; course system and ECTS system; be able to organize their studies; get information on support and advice services; be able to write papers in academic English
• have a basic knowledge on interpersonal and intercultural communication; verbal and nonverbal communication; stereotypes and their effects; be able to discuss the pros and cons of the approach of Intercultural Standards; be familiar with the Development Model of Intercultural Sensitivity (DMIS) and be able to apply it in intercultural situations.
