Here are the programs in detail:
1. outgoing scholarships from the partner countries of the Free State of Bavaria to Eastern Europe for students and young academics who are enrolled at a state university or a church-sponsored university in Bavaria (in some cases only German citizenship):
Language course scholarships for summer courses in Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary. The application deadline for Poland is 12.2.2025; the remaining calls for 2025 will be published shortly. The scholarships cover course fees, accommodation and some meals as well as a cultural program.
> Study and research scholarships to Croatia and Hungary for the academic year 2025/26. The application deadline for Hungary is 20.2.2025; the new call for applications for Croatia will be published shortly. A combination with Erasmus+ funding is generally not possible.
2. outgoing / incoming: mobility grants for research stays by students and early career researchers in Eastern Europe or Bavaria in 2025; funding amount max. 1,000 €. Application deadline: 30.4.2025.
3. Outgoing: Mobility grants for internships for students from Bavarian universities and colleges in Eastern Europe in 2025; funding amount € 450. Application deadline: 9.5.2024
4. Incoming: Scholarships from the Free State of Bavaria for German summer courses at Bavarian universities for students and young researchers with German language skills of at least B1 level from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia and Ukraine. The scholarships include the course fee and, in the case of face-to-face courses, additional accommodation and pocket money or meals at a Bavarian university. The new call for applications is expected to be published at the beginning of 2025. 
5. Incoming: Annual scholarship program of the Free State of Bavaria for graduates from Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Ukraine and Hungary. The scholarship serves to finance postgraduate studies (e.g. Master's), a research stay or a doctorate at a state or state-funded university or college in Bavaria. Funding amount € 992/month, can be extended twice for a maximum of three years. Application deadline: 1.12.2025 for the academic year 2026/27. A new call for applications will be published in summer 2025.
6. outgoing / incoming: The funding and scholarship programs of the Bavarian-Czech University Agency for student exchange and academic cooperation with the Czech Republic can be found at: www.btha.de
The BTHA is offering the following programs for 2025:
> Funding program “Bilateral Summer/Winter Schools 2025” for the initiation of thematic summer and winter schools offered by cooperating universities for students from both countries. Applications can be submitted on an ongoing basis.
> Funding program “Bavarian-Czech Academic Projects 2025” for projects of Bavarian universities with partners in the Czech Republic in the field of science and teaching. Applications can be submitted on an ongoing basis.
> “Mobility Grants Czech Republic 2025” for study, lecture and research visits by students, teachers and researchers from/to the Czech Republic. Applications can be submitted on an ongoing basis.
> Scholarships for language courses and summer schools in the Czech Republic. The calls for applications for 2025 are expected to be published at the beginning of February.
> Scholarships for study and research stays in the Czech Republic. The call for applications for 2025 is expected to take place at the beginning of February.
> Mobility grants for internships in the Czech Republic for students from Bavaria. Applications can be submitted on an ongoing basis.
> Scholarships for language courses and summer schools in Bavaria for students from the Czech Republic. The call for applications for 2025 is expected to take place at the beginning of February.
> Annual scholarship program for graduates from the Czech Republic - see also point 5.
