Fundamentals of PYTHON- and MATLAB-based data acquisition and optimization (DACOP)
Application of programming for numerical simulation, design optimization and data analysis will be presented in this course. Fundamentals of working in MATLAB environment, using the relevant toolboxes, and starting coding from scratch will be covered. Furthermore, Python scripting will be introduced and working with the most applicable Python libraries for numerical simulations and data analysis will be discussed in this course.

- Students become familiar with commonly used programming tools and environments in engineering domain.
- Students can recognize which tools and libraries are appropriate for different engineering applications.
- Students can apply their programming skills in different domains such as data analysis/visualization, engineering optimization and implementing numerical methods.
- Opportunity will be given to the students to bring their questions and topics from their own study disciplines and being inspired how they can utilize programming and data analysis approaches for their specific applications and projects.

The course DACOP is planned for 14.08.2023-18.08.2023. Kick-off meeting is still to be scheduled. You will then receive a task that shall be completed by you or in a small group. In order to support you with setting up your environment/models, we provide consultation sessions as well the following week. The exam date is August 21st. The exam will consist of a presentation of your model and results and some specific questions related to the provided information in the course.
